Viewing an Agent
Governments; ISPs
This guide will walk you through how to view and manage individual measurement agents from within agent administration. This will let you view useful environmental information, debugging information and allow you to manage metadata of these measurement agents, allowing users to be self-sufficient.
Agent View
1. Go into the Management Suite on the top navigation, then select Agents.
2. Find the agent using the search functionality. You can search by a number of standard fields and custom metadata fields you might have such as customer number. Click View once you’ve found the relevant agent.
On this page you can:
- Click to view just that agent in analytics using the unit filter using ‘View in Analytics’
- Activate/Deactivate an agent if it’s a CPE Tip: To view more information about managing CPE activations, see 'Managing CPE Activations’
- View information about the agent such as id, MAC address, serial number and device type (base)
- See the last seen date - when it last communicated with our data collection infrastructure
- Set it to be prefiltered from analytics Tip: To view more information about prefiltering, see 'Using Prefiltering’
- Customise the user associated with the agent (and therefore able to view it as a consumer) by clicking ‘Edit’ on the User Information box and typing the users’ email if they already have a ConnectedHome account
- View environmental data reported by the agent such as IP address and uptime
- View and modify custom metadata field values
- Modify the ISP, Package and Timezone of the agent
- Modify the physical address of the agent
You can also, by switching tabs, view the following:
- Location Tab: View a history of metadata changes
- Reports Tab: View a history of every day the device has been online with approximated data usage, average upload/download speed, public ip address and detected location & ISP
- Threshold Breaches: View recent instances when tests did not run due to cross-traffic exceeding thresholds
- Test Results Tab: A quick way to view recent download, upload, latency and package loss test results. Please note this page will update less frequently than Analytics
- Instant Test: A quick way to instantly test the line speed, and get instant results Tip: To view more information about Instant Tests, see 'Performing Instant Tests’
