User & Password Management
Governments; ISPs; Consumers
This guide will walk you through creating of users, permissions, management of passwords, and email addresses.
Creating a New User
1. Go into the Management Suite on the top navigation, then select Users.
Tip: You will need to be your organisations super admin, or a user with enough permissions to create additional users, and within your seat limit. If unsure, contact your account manager.
2. Click Create New User.
3. Enter the email address, password and names of the new user.
Tip: You can also set their language but please note that this will only apply to certain parts of ConnectedHome
You can also set the user as a ‘Super Admin’. Super admins have the ability to manage/create other users and have full access to all subscriptions, by default and this cannot be removed.
Tip: Super admins can remove themselves, so watch out.
When you’re done click Create.
4. If you created a super admin, then you’re all done. The new user will now have a valid login but will not have any permissions, so lets setup their permissions. Click Yes if you’d like to do this now.
5. If you have multiple data subscriptions you’ll need to select which subscription you want to add them to. Select one then click Next.
6. Next create a group, groups are ways of simplifying permissions as you can just add users to a group and they will get the same access as others in the group. Give the group a name, then select what parts of ConnectedHome you’d like them to be able to access. Then click Finish.
7. If you now view this user you can see the group that they are in for each data subscription and change their groups if you wish.
Tip: If you want to disable a user, simply set all their groups to Not assigned.
On every data subscription there is an Admin group. This group has access to all functionality on a data subscription, but unlike super admins, the user doesn’t have access to manage users and it is specific to a single data subscription.
Tip: You can also create users in bulk using CSV import.
